REV. DR. WILLIAM MORRIS
Rev. Dr. William L. Morris was born January 21, 1960. His parents, Rev. Ralph C. and Patricia A. Morris of Gering, NE brought him to be baptized on January 31, 1960, at St. John Lutheran Church, Midland, MI.
He began his schooling at St. John Lutheran School in Midland, MI. His high school years were spent in Riverton, IL, Carlyle, Sask., Canada, and Fort Wayne, IN, graduating in 1978. He graduated from Concordia College, St. Paul, MN with a BA in 1982. He attended Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, IN. After his first year at seminary, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Joyce Gruenhagen of Howard Lake, MN, on June 18, 1983. He served his vicarage at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville, IL. On May 16, 1986, he graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. He was ordained into the office of public ministry on June 8, 1986. On May 19, 2000, he graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis with a Doctor of Ministry degree. He has served as pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Engadine, MI (1986-1990), Grace Lutheran Church, Germfask, MI, (1987-1990), St. John Lutheran Church, New Boston, MI, as associate pastor (1990-1993) and as administrative pastor (1993-2001), and of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Alpena, MI, as administrative pastor (2001-2013). On October 24, 2012, Pastor Morris was called to be the administrative pastor of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hemlock, MI.
Pastor and Cheryl are blessed with three children and five grandchildren.
