LOIS PARSELL

Lois Parsell

God puts us where we are supposed to be…and I am so very blessed to be the K-8 Art Teacher at St. Peter.

I was raised on a small family farm in rural Gladwin County and grew up in the same farm house where my father was born and attended the same country school through the 7th grade. I graduated from Gladwin High School in 1966 and Central Michigan University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree. I majored in Art and minored in Home Economics. I taught high school Art, and some Home Economics, at Vassar High School from 1970-2010.  I have also taught Dual Enrollment college courses, as an adjunct, through Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University for the past 14 years. I have lived in Mt. Pleasant, Vassar, Caro, Bay City and moved to Hemlock in August of 2010. I have been blessed with two sons (Thomas Ward from Hemlock and works at Garber Buick and Richard Ward from Clare, an Officer with Coleman Police Department…he is also one of the owners of Cops and Doughnuts in Clare). They have blessed me with five wonderful grandchildren. I LOVE being a Grandma!

I began teaching at St. Peter in 2014 and thoroughly enjoy watching the students create and grow artistically.
