2011 Building Project

2011 Building Project

8/26/2011

The reason for this addition is to provide greater safety for our students, to provide a safer drop off and pick up area for our children, to have a focal point of entry and to enhance the look of our school for the general public.  It took a lot of hard work and effort on the part of the Vision Committee and Building Committee to get us to this point.  But it took the commitment of our entire congregation to make it happen.

We are reminded that it is really the Lord who builds and blesses.  If this addition was only for safety – only for more convenient drop off and pick up – only for making it more appealing so that it would attract more families and students – that might be a nice goal.

But for us who call ourselves the congregation of St. Peter Lutheran Church it means much more.  The reason we invest time, energy and resources to do this project or any other project is spiritually motivated.  We are Lutheran Christians united to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We value and covet the training of our children in the Scriptures and nurturing them in the faith and we take serious our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ in our world beginning in our own community.

That’s why unless the Lord builds the house its builders labor in vain.  We look to the Lord as the reason and motivation to do all that we do.  Every decision we make as a congregation has to deal with the Gospel.  Every brick and piece of steel or concrete is connected with sharing Jesus Christ with our children and community.

As a congregation we rejoice that the Lord has led us to band together to labor in building this addition for His work and to His glory.  May we give thanks to God.  -Pastor Hagenow
